Lethbridge College’s New Instructor Orientation Program (NIOP) is a year-long program that begins with a two-week orientation to introduce new full-time, part-time, and sessional instructors to resources and important policies related to teaching and learning at Lethbridge College.

The Educational Development Team within the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation will facilitate a variety of sessions to help instructors develop essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will ensure successful teaching.

Over the year, this orientation to teaching will occur in the following three-phase approach:

MUST – information instructors will need to begin their teaching journeys in the first two weeks

NEED – information instructors may need in the first half of the semester

NICE – information instructors may need by the end of their first eight months of teaching

The initial two-week orientation combines online presentations, discussions, and interactive sessions in synchronous and asynchronous formats.
